Silicon Valley-based ViaBot is conducting pilot tests for its enterprise robots.

In 2016, Gregg Ratanaphanyarat and Dawei Ding dropped out of Penn State University to found an outdoor cleaning robot startup.

Today, that gamble seems to be paying off. Their startup, ViaBot, is partnering with a large company on a pilot project to use robots to clean a parking lot in the Bay Area. The work is currently progressing well, with prospects for expanding to more business.

The co-founders stated that robotics is difficult to apply to outdoor maintenance because developers typically focus on a single area, while building managers require multiple services.

ViaBot aims to meet diverse outdoor maintenance needs with modular robots.

Ratanaphanyarat, the company's CEO, said: "This will make mobile robots efficient, productive, and cost-effective, something previous robots couldn't achieve."

Like many robotics newcomers, ViaBot uses sensors and cameras, along with object detection algorithms and maps running on NVIDIA Jetson to process all the data required for navigation.

Jetson provides robotics developers with high-performance, low-power processing methods. [Our new modules](https://www.nvidia.com/zh-cn/autonomous-machines/embedded-systems-dev-kits-modules/ "我们的
