Meituan, a large e-commerce company, has selected the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier platform as the core AI compute for its autonomous delivery robots.

Meituan-Dianping is one of the world's largest on-demand food delivery companies, combining the business models of Uber Eats, Yelp, and Groupon, and partners with over 400,000 local businesses. They have launched the Xiaodai autonomous delivery vehicle, which can transport meals from restaurants to consumers.

Xiaodai is currently being tested in three locations, including Beijing Chaoyang Joy City, Lenovo's Shenzhen office, and Xiong'an New Area.

Although the delivery vehicle and its battery are small in size, the processing power required for sensing, localization, and path planning is the same as that for large autonomous vehicles, and largely relies on the high-performance computing of the Jetson AGX Xavier.

Xia Huaxia, General Manager of Meituan, stated: "Autonomous delivery vehicles are crucial for the development of the logistics industry and can significantly improve distribution and delivery. We look forward to leveraging the powerful AI capabilities of the Jetson AGX Xavier to enhance the functionality of Xiaodai autonomous delivery robots."
