As a technology innovation company dedicated to providing high-quality images for intelligent driving and autonomous machines, it recently announced the launch of the industry's first automotive camera module based on the latest OmniVision 8M OX08D10 sensor. This module effectively addresses the demand for higher resolution and image quality in Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving (AD), supporting the intelligent upgrade of the automotive industry.

OmniVision's Latest 8-Megapixel Image Sensor

The OX08D10 is the first 8-megapixel CMOS image sensor to feature OmniVision's new 2.1-micron TheiaCel™ technology. Utilizing next-generation Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor (LOFIC) and OmniVision's DCG™ High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology, it can accurately capture LED light sources and eliminate flicker artifacts under various driving conditions.

8-Megapixel Camera Module

Leveraging its full-stack technical capabilities in high-quality imaging and extensive mass production experience, combined with the company's industry advantages in intelligent driving and perception imaging, it has successfully developed a series of camera module products based on the OmniVision 8-megapixel OX08D10 sensor—the SG8S-OX08DC-G2A.

This product is based on the OX08D10 CMOS image sensor, featuring a 1/1.73-inch sensor area and 2.1um pixel size. It uses the GMSL2 serializer MAX9295A, achieving a 140dB dynamic range and supporting 3840x2160 resolution with 8-megapixel high pixel count. This means the camera can capture high-quality, detail-rich images, effectively meeting the demand for high-definition video streams from cameras in complex and varied driving scenarios, as well as the need for effective recognition of distant obstacles.

In terms of appearance, the camera module has an overall size of only 30mm*30mm*22.5mm and weighs approximately 80g, making it compact and easy to install. The product meets automotive-grade protection standards, making it particularly suitable for in-vehicle, unmanned vehicle, and other autonomous driving and assisted driving scenarios. Furthermore, to meet diverse customer needs, a series of camera products compatible with various serializer solutions and interface protocols are also available.

NVIDIA-based OX08D10 Camera Development Kit

As an NVIDIA partner, relying on the software driver technology on DRIVE AGX Orin and Jetson AGX Orin, this new 8M OX08D10 automotive camera module has been deeply integrated and successfully adapted with both the DRIVE AGX Orin and Jetson AGX Orin platforms. This will enable more developers to more efficiently develop various applications tailored to their needs, as well as conduct learning and research.
