Industrial Application of Fully Localized Fanless Embedded In-Vehicle Computers in Ambulance Remote Diagnostics

Industrial Application of Ambulance Remote Diagnostics
Background Providing rapid diagnosis and treatment for emergency patients as quickly as possible is crucial for improving patient rescue success rates. Therefore, advanced ambulance systems are exploring how, immediately after a patient enters an ambulance, information from various examination instruments can be quickly transmitted back to the hospital for preliminary diagnosis by doctors, who then guide the medical personnel in the ambulance on treatment actions. To implement this solution, it is indispensable for ambulances to be equipped with mobile in-vehicle computers that can operate stably in a vehicle environment, possess powerful computing capabilities, and transmit information from various instruments and imaging data from the ambulance back to the hospital via a fast wireless network.
Solution Requirements ● Industrial-grade fanless embedded in-vehicle computer ● Possesses wireless communication and precise GPS positioning capabilities ● Accommodates the unstable in-vehicle battery voltage of various special vehicles ● Requires connection to various cameras or other sensor devices via I/O interfaces
Solution To meet the demands of ambulances, Shinmai has designed a series of rugged in-vehicle computers, featuring rugged fanless characteristics to adapt to harsh outdoor environments, and user-friendly interfaces for easy driver operation. Additionally, abundant I/O interfaces enable the in-vehicle computer to communicate with vehicle's driving peripherals, differential positioning modules, and various sensors, thereby achieving the functions required by customers. In addition, matching power modules, mounting brackets, various accompanying antennas, etc., have also been designed, allowing customers to more conveniently install the computer on agricultural vehicles to achieve various predefined functions.

Solution Advantages ● Complete range of products: A variety of in-vehicle computers are offered for customers to choose from based on different usage scenarios, including various display sizes, integrated and split designs, with touchscreens or integrated keyboards, and different operating systems, allowing customers to select the most suitable in-vehicle computer based on their current situation. ● Optional wireless cameras / PoE cameras: To enhance driver safety, we have designed cameras that use wireless communication and cameras that can be powered over Ethernet (PoE), allowing drivers to see every corner of large trucks more clearly. ● Beidou/GPS dual-mode positioning, various wired/wireless sensors ● Based on the signal transmission methods of various sensors on the vehicle (e.g., CAN, Zigbee, RFID, GPIO, Bluetooth, RS-484), various sensor and imaging data can be conveniently integrated into the in-vehicle computer. ● Provides LTE / 3G high-speed wireless network cards: To improve data communication between the in-vehicle computer and the hospital, Shinmai in-vehicle computers are equipped with various high-speed wireless network cards, including common 3G and next-generation LTE solutions. ● In-vehicle wide-voltage power supply: To make the in-vehicle computer better adapt to the ambulance environment, we have designed special features such as wide-voltage power input and delayed power on/off, enabling the in-vehicle computer to operate more smoothly in the vehicle.
