Title: Overall Design of an Embedded Wire Cut EDM Control System
2.1 Characteristics and Structure of Wire Cut EDM Machine Tools
Wire Cut Electrical Discharge Machining (Wire Cut EDM) is a type of electrical discharge machining within special machining processes, and is a processing method that directly utilizes electrical or thermal energy. The basic principle of machining is to use a continuously moving electrode wire (molybdenum wire/copper wire) as the electrode on a fixed track of a wire guide frame. While maintaining an appropriate gap between the electrode wire and the workpiece, sufficient pulsed voltage is applied, causing spark discharge between the electrode wire and the workpiece, eroding the workpiece material. Simultaneously, the movement of the machine tool's worktable is controlled to create relative motion with the electrode wire, thereby achieving the purpose of surface erosion and cutting to shape, producing products that meet user requirements. The principle of the Wire Cut EDM process is shown in Figure 2-1. The machining structure of a Wire Cut EDM machine tool is as follows [25]:

Wire Cut EDM machine tools have the following characteristics:
- No need to manufacture electrodes of specific shapes. Using electrode wires
